Our friends David and Marie planned a beach wedding. So that meant a camping weekend for us. We've had this one on the calendar a while. Mary had been on the boat last July to witness the surprise engagement on the island at Lake Walter F. George.
We arrived in Mexico Beach, FL, earlier on this Friday, but it didn't matter; we weren't looking for an empty site in a campground this time. We are fortunate to have a friend with a place. Mike has a permanently stationed camper and fishing boat located on a narrow strip of land just two blocks off the white sand beach of Florida's Gulf Coast panhandle, and a neighbor who keeps an eye out for his stuff and his grass mowed.

An extra plug and access to the sewerage hookup makes for an easy setup for us. |
A sunset on the beach. The crashing of waves on the sand sent relaxation through our bodies.

Sunset June 12, 2015, Mexico Beach, FL. There had been rain earlier, and the salt mist clouded the sky. So much so, that our color photos look like black and whites. |
We spent Saturday on the beach, entertaining a nervous groom for part of the day.

Mary 's preferred seat: under the shade of an umbrella. The white sand beach in the distance is Cape San Blas |
Wedding time! Marie was a beautiful bride. She was stunning in a pale pink short dress with a long, flowing chiffon skirt.

Sunday was June 14. Flag Day. Gotta fly the Stars and Stripes.
So far, so good. We have had some terrific trips already in the SolAire. Jamie says she's easy to pull, despite her 35 feet. The addition of extended mirrors on the truck helps him see the tail end and surrounding hazards. Let's just hope she pulls as easily up mountain passes as she does on these southern flatlands.
It's hard to believe our big vacation is just a few days away.
